New journal entry?

Fri Jun 12, 2009, 7:24 AM
I've not been updating my gallery recently but I HAVE been drawing contrary to popular belief. :lmao:
Although, I have not much time to draw seriously these days (I've been really, REALLY busy without much break continuously for the past few years) and most of my art for the past year are mostly sketches or works drawn for others through Menewsha commissions and events. I do have completed works for those, but I just don't feel up to posting most of them up in my main gallery. lol

Anyhow, this journal's actually meant to show that I'm still alive and kicking. I have just gone on a major replying spree, but unfortunately, there were too many journals to go through so I've deleted them all. If there is anything you think I might want to know, just let me know. ^_^;

Thank you very much for those who have commented and/or faved artworks in my gallery, though! As well as the watches. I appreciate them!

Might be doing a quick update to the gallery soon. : D

Right now? Not good, BUT I got paid and am shopping around for tablets. If you got a suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

Well, from what I heard from tablet owners/seekers and my own personal experience, the Wacom brand has good quality tablets. And at the moment, I would suggest getting the Bamboo model, as it is the best for the price. A 6x8 one would be a decent size for art. Even a 3x4 sized tablet is decent, as I know quite a few friends who use tablets that size and are comfortable with them. Any bigger than 6x8 is not necessary though (unless you are doing graphic designing or other similar professions), as you would require more hand movement to use it, which can be tiring.
I myself am still using the old Intuos, but the price of an Intuos tablet is rather expensive.

Well I'm actually looking into a Genius, what do you think of that brand?

Oh, also. Wacom tablets seem to have much better compatibilities for most art programmes as compared to Genius, which may not work properly with some particular programmes.

I can't say too much about Genius as I've not looked into that particular brand too deeply, but I've heard Genius is a pretty decent brand for tablets as well (and cheaper than Wacom). Although I've heard it's much less durable. My Wacom tablet would be 7 years old this year and it's still working fine. I had a friend who owned a Genius tablet but it spoiled after a little more than two years and she got a Wacom instead. In terms of usage, however, I've tested one out a while back during a convention, and I didn't find it too bad to use at all (about the same, really), but I can't remember which model it was.
